Awesome puzzle! I had prior instead of abbot for a long time, but the z in zipgun lit up my brain with amaze, and then the NW corner was toast; the only unknown on completion was Balin, and of course the alien, both of which I confirmed with Google afterward. Thanks for the fun, and keep it up. WP
